It's on Saturday, May 22 in Gruene, Texas!! It looks like fun because not only is it a cool race course (400 meter swim in the river, 12 mile bike on the country roads, 3.3 mile run around the city), but the award ceremony is held in the river! They apparently give you tubes after you finish the race, and you get to float around in the river while you wait for others to finish. My friend Kimberly, who has been doing triathlons and adventure races for a while now, is planning to join me. I'm hoping to get some good pointers and advice from her! It will also be fun to have someone to hang out with after the race. Gruene is a cool little town just north of San Antonio with some fun places to eat and shop, so it will be a great Saturday!
